Vintner’s Festival
2005 ~ This was Saturday &
Sunday, June 4th & 5th in Saratoga at Viaggio
Restaurant and again on Saturday & Sunday, June 11th &
12th at Severino’s in the Sea Cliff Inn, Aptos. I enjoyed
visiting with so many friends and wish to thank those that supported this annual
event (our seventeenth!). Special thanks go out to Sara, Lonny, Patricia,
Chris, Tanya, & Tatiana, my wonderful mailing list friends who helped
tremendously by pouring and educating Patrons who enjoyed our signature
flight of vertical vintages of Pinot Noir, a bright new Blanc de Blancs that
was just finished last fall, It’s 1992 Santa Cruz Mountains late disgorged
Methode Champenoise Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs that was en triage (on the
yeast) for eleven years. It finishes bone dry, rich and creamy with the
tiniest of bubbles. We rounded out the list with a couple of Chardonnays from
our mountain vineyard, the 2001 and the 2002. I hope to see you next year.
It’s the first two weekends in June. For more information on The Santa
Cruz Mountains’ Vintner’s Festival visit http://www.scmwa.com/
